OVERVIEW The Electrical, instrumentation and Controls Manager will provide leadership, direction and coordination in the planning, implementation and improvement of electrical and instrumentation systems in a manner that is consistently driven for improved performance in accordance to industry standards.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES The Electrical, instrumentation and Controls Manager is responsible for providing leadership, direction and coordination in the planning, implementation and improvement of all electrical and instrumentation systems.
The Electrical, instrumentation and Controls Manager will plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate assigned engineering work; monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and company standards; and ensure effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all disciplines and all other project participants, including sub-contractors.
Coordinates daily with other plant management regarding day-to-day progress and plant operations or impact to the operation.
Must be able to manage power plant, electrical, instrumentation systems, and equipment's maintenance to maintain equipment integrity.
Must be able to work closely with operations to develop comprehensive long range plans to meet the electrical and automation strategy.
Must be able to review and challenge existing maintenance practices to ensure continuous improvement of equipment and resources.
Must be able to develop comprehensive and detailed work packages for cost effective contracting services.
This position will strive to improve reliability of the plant equipment through better uses of technology and better work practices.
Capable of properly evaluating, training and developing staff.
Must be able to direct electrical or instrumentation maintenance, installation, preventative maintenance.
Promote company safety policies and procedures to ensure safe working conditions.
Serve as technical advisor during design, installation and start -- up of new equipment.
Responsible for interviewing prospective candidates and making recommendations to fill open positions within area.
Abides by and communicates company policies to employees.
Advises the Senior Manager of Mill Operations of maintenance or operating difficulties and recommends remedial measures.
Under direction of the Senior Manager of Mill Operations, plans and monitors capital, operational and maintenance budgets associated with the sugar mill facility.
Responds to and investigates plant emergency situations, industrial injuries, damage to property, fire losses, etc.
to effectively initiate preventative measures.
Fosters good vendor and contractor relations in area of responsibility maintains liaison and coordinates work with other departmental sections and divisions as well as with public and private organizations.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
WORK EXPERIENCE A minimum of five years of experience in an industrial facility, preferable sugar cane related.

years of experience in Electrical/184C design and consulting in a manufacturing operation.
Have demonstrated knowledge of the equipment, methods and materials used in the repair and maintenance of industrial process facilities.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Must have a Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or its foreign equivalent or equivalent gained through a combination of education, training, together with substantial experience in the sugar industry in a similar capacity.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY Yes ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES) Able to speak and write in English, Spanish is a plus.
Professional Engineering License is a plus.
Demonstrated experience programming multiple Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) Proficient familiarity with the National Electric Code (NEC) Familiarity with ISA standards a plus.
Professional presentation a plus.
Must have strong communication skills.
Majority of their work experience in an industrial environment.
Skill in reading, interpreting, and analyzing information from instruments, charts, and schematic drawings as applicable.
Participating in Client/Contractor meetings and resolving client/engineering and management project issues.
Skill in establishing and maintaining good working relationships with co-workers and outside agencies.
Skill in developing, implementing and overseeing through completion both long and short-term project plans.
Skill in resolving problems or situations requiring the exercise of good judgment.
Skill in preparing clear and concise written reports.
Have demonstrated client relationship skills at all levels, leadership ability, technical excellence and management skills, as well as strong budgeting skills.
Ability to communicate verbally and writing in a clear and concise manner with plant employees at all working and management levels.
Ability to recognize operational inconsistencies and hazards in the work place and display proper judgment in dealing with them appropriately.
Experience with SAP software a plus.
Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite a plus.
Ability to receive, comprehend and utilize OSHA required training.
Ability to ascend and descend stairs and stationary vertical ladders as part of normal work activity and emergency egress situations.
Ability to work in contrasting plant environments.
Ability to move about all areas of the plant, including catwalks, deck grating, wet and muddy areas, and uneven surfaces.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
